With the success of Disney+, Disney continues to fill in their nostalgic icons on the streaming service.
The library includes the live-action Lady and the Tramp, which has been featured since last year November. The critically-acclaimed Lilo and Stitch gets a live-action treatment. It will only be available on Disney+.
According to the DisInsider, the live-action will begin filming in Hawaii this Fall. It would have a $60 million budget, which is the same as the Lady and the Tramp.
The return of the original voice
Chris Sanders will be reprising his role as Stitch. The synopsis of the upcoming film is as follows:
"The story is about the bond formed between a lonely human girl named Lilo and a dog-like alien named Stitch, who is engineered to be a force of destruction."
Storyline:
Lilo & Stitch Live-Action will be the first remake of a Walt Disney Animation Studios movie from a decade. Plots will be re-imagined to fit in the live-action context.
Mike Van Waes is responsible for script writing, who has previously wrote "The Crooked Man". Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich are set to produce this film and Disney+ "Inspector Gadget Film".
